 Revolution OS DVD Released
Announcements admin writes "Revolution OS tells the inside story of the hackers who rebelled against the proprietary software model and Microsoft to create GNU/Linux and the Open Source movement.

On June 1, 2001, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said "Linux is a cancer that attaches itself in an intellectual property sense to everything it touches."

Microsoft fears GNU/Linux, and rightly so. GNU/Linux and the Open Source & Free Software movements arguably represent the greatest threat to Microsoft's way of life. Shot in cinemascope on 35mm film in Silicon Valley, Revolution OS tracks down the key movers and shakers behind Linux, and finds out how and why Linux became such a potent threat.

Revolution OS features interviews with Linus Torvalds, Richard Stallman, Bruce Perens, Eric Raymond, Brian Behlendorf, Michael Tiemann, Larry Augustin, Frank Hecker, and Rob Malda. To view the trailer or the first eight minutes go to the ifilm website.

The DVD is NOT region coded or CSS encoded - meaning easy playing on Linux!

More information can be found here.
The DVD/VHS is currently available from ThinkGeek.

Revolution OS is currently only available from ThinkGeek in the US. People are currently trying to encourage Linux Emporium to stock it in the UK."

New book review added: Webmaster in a Nutshell
Announcements Anonymous writes "Have recently finished the review of Webmaster in a Nushell, Second Edition (O Reilly).
Some of you who have been with us a while will remember that we were sent it back when we had the old site... sorry for the delay!

Check out the reviews section under books if you wanna read it!

Also, if there is any particular book (relevant to Linux obviously) that you would like us to review, then either e-mail us (southwest@lug.org.uk) or leave a comment on this article and we'll try and get hold of it for you."
